Bellmon, born near Tonkawa, Okla. in 1921, graduated from Oklahoma A & M College in 1942 with a degree in agriculture. He served in the U.S. Marines during WWII. The Okahoma Constitution Revision Study Commission was formed in September of 1988 by Governor Henry Bellmon and Attorney General Robert Henry in order to shorten and to modernize the outdated Oklahoma Constitution.
